Guests joining us for opening weekend are invited to a pair of thoughtfully curated gatherings, designed to introduce both the spirit of the Inn and the story behind it.

On Friday at 5PM, join us for Innkeeper’s Hours with Gillian Richmond — a warm welcome, a glass raised, and a chance to settle in as the season begins.

On Saturday from 5–7PM, we’ll host a special historical fireside chat in partnership with the Brewster Historical Society, exploring the rich history of The Charm on Main and the storied property it calls home.

A fitting beginning — equal parts hospitality, history, and a proper nod to what came before.

About our historians

Sally Cabot Gunning, president of the Brewster Historical Society and an elected fellow of the Massachusetts Historical Society, has spent her career bringing New England’s past to life through her critically acclaimed novels and local historical work. Her deep knowledge of Brewster’s history — from its earliest days to its quieter, lesser-known chapters — offers a richly layered perspective on the place we now call The Charm.

Joining her is Candace “Candy” Hammond, a Cape Cod–based journalist, novelist, and playwright whose work explores the character and creativity of the region. Candy attended the Sea Pines School in this very location during its final years in operation. With a sharp eye for storytelling and a personal connection to Brewster’s history, Candy brings both insight and a sense of place to the conversation.

Together, they promise an evening of stories well told — thoughtful, engaging, and just the right amount of illuminating.
